Last weekend Ken and I went to Grand Rapids to see my 2nd favorite country singer Luke Bryan. (Brad Paisley is my 1st favorite, in case you were wondering :) We stayed at a nice hotel right on the Grand River, had a wonderful dinner at our favorite tapas place, and had a great time at the concert. We bought the tickets months ago, and were happy to see it was on Valentine's weekend, as it made it easy to decide what to do for the holiday.
| Waiting for the show to start. Ken calls this his "pimp face." |
| Playing with our reflection in the window after the concert. Ken wanted to see if he could look like a monster. Yep, he can. |
| I love Luke Bryan, but the draw to the concert was actually the opening band Florida Georgia Line. They're fairly new, but do have a couple songs on the radio. We've downloaded the entire CD, and love every song. They were awesome live. It was the first time I'd seen more filled than empty seats for the opener. "Baby you're a song, you make me want me roll my windows down and CRUISE! |
| I liked how the entrance to the hotel was all lit up with blue lights when we came back. |
| Luke does such a good show. He's funny and personable and sings good too. This is the 3rd time we've seen him, and he keeps getting better. It's so funny to think that 2 years ago he was at our po-dunk county fair with 2 spotlights and a microphone. Now he's the headliner with all kinds of lights and effects and videos. |
| I love love love concerts. The lights, feeling the beat in your own heart, singing every word to every song at the top of my lungs with 10,000 other people. |
| Some fans across the arena from us had light up letters for all the bands. The guys said this was their first lit sign since they started touring with Luke :) |
| He works so hard to make sure everyone is having a good time, and it looks like he is too. I can't imagine the feeling of singing your songs in front of thousands of screaming, cheering, singing fans. |
| Pretty view of the river from our room before we left for dinner. |
| Awww. No monster in the mirror now. |
The arena sold out within minutes of tickets going on sale.

I would definitely see Luke again and again. Florida Georgia Line, too, for that matter. Some people are good once, and you can cross them off your list. And others you just want to see every time you can. I'd go to another show tomorrow if I could get tickets!

Hooray for a great concert-- Love that he is so great to see--Till the next concert- great memories!!!
Looks like so much fun! I am also a fan of Brad Paisley. It made me laugh to read about Luke Bryan being at your fair not too long ago. Quite a few years back, I went to the Twin Falls county fair to see Chris Ledoux. Lonestar opened for him. At that time, they had a couple of songs on the radio and I vaguely knew who they were. That was a looong time ago!
