Fall Walk at Grand Mere

Yesterday was a perfect day for a walk in the woods. It was cool without being cold, no wind and sunshine all over. It's one of Storm's favorite things to do.

At the very end of the walk. She's so tired, but so happy.

Storm walks so good in the woods. Always has to be first in line with Ken.

Family picture at the end of the trail.

Ken's inner monkey came out.

Something interesting in the tree...

My favorite thing about fall is scuffing through the leaves.

Field Museum

Last Saturday we felt like getting out of the house, so after some online searching, we decided to go to the Field Museum in Chicago. None of us had ever been there, and it ended up being a very nice little day trip.

I don't know if this bridge has a name, or even really where it is, but I love it every time we go to Chicago.

We had a beautiful fall day. The outside of the museum looks very cool to me.

There were all kinds of skeletons of different animals. I thought it was very interesting to put the whale and the elephant together. It really showed the size difference between the two.

There really were ants running around in this green gel.

This is Sue -- the most complete TRex skeleton ever to be uncovered. We watched a movie about it and we learned that baby TRex's have feathers on them for a few years to help regulate their body temperature. Also, they could tell this dinosaur had had a hard life because some of its spine bones have arthritis, a wound on one leg scraped the bone, and some kind of infection made holes in its skull. Crazy they can tell all that from some old bones
