Life Without Work

This week was my 2nd week of being off work. It ended up that Syd and I were by ourselves for most of it -- our neighborhood friends all were on vacation, and Hollee, who comes over here every day with Syd wanted to spend time with her sister before she went back to college in South Carolina. We still managed to find some fun things to do.

My cousin Beckie sent me a link to a blog that has all kinds of fun craft ideas. I was drawn to the sidewalk paint because it was super easy and I had all the stuff.

There's a blueberry farm about a mile from our house. We picked about 2 pounds of blueberries in an hour. I forget how much I like them until I have a bunch of them in the house just waiting to be eaten.

Syd found a recipe for s'mores cupcakes that we just had to try. They were very wonderul and oh so gooey just like a real s'more.

My friend Stacy introduced us to the dog park in St. Joe. At first I was leery of going because Storm is so crazy when she meets other dogs around the neighborhood. But after being there with Stacy and her labrodoodle, Rosie, I realized that Storm is much better around other dogs and people than she used to be. We went to the dog park a few times. One time a beautiful black Great Dane named Beau came too and Storm love love loved him. It was so fun to see her interact with another Dane.

Yesterday Ken got to do some fun stuff too. We found some trails close by and spent some time walking the trails and exploring the stream. Storm LOVES stuff like that. She just seems so happy and content being out there roaming around.

The one day we had a friend with us we went to the zoo in Michigan City, Indiana. It's a small zoo, but Katelyn and Syd loved taking pictures of all the animals with their phones. The otters were a big highlight because they could go in a plexiglass tube and see the otters swimming all around the tube. We also climbed up the big lookout tower.
