I love Brad Paisley. He's been on my must-see list of musicians for a long time. For Christmas Ken got tickets to the show last night in Ft. Wayne, IN. It was AWESOME! There is definitely a reason he was named Entertainer of the Year. For someone only 5'8" he commanded the entire arena for the 2 hours he was on stage.
Darius Rucker was the opener. You might know him from the '90's band Hootie and the Blowfish. He was very good and actually used some of the Hootie songs in his set.
Brad used some of the best graphics/images/video on the big screen behind the stage.
At one point this mascot looking dude came out that looked just like Brad.
We really had good seats with a great view of the stage. Brad spent a lot of time on either side so no one felt neglected.
One of the coolest things he did was to make a circuit on the floor of the arena, while still playing and singing.
During his circuit he stopped at a platform in the middle of the arena and sang an acoustic song to the "cheap seats" because that's where he always ended up sitting when he was a teenager.
Ken said he could tell I was having fun because I was dancing and singing more than at any other concert :)
Ken and I agreed that it was an awesome show with a good mix of smartass funny songs, and more serious slow songs. I would definitely see Brad again, and I'm glad I got to cross him off my list.
