Accomplishment

All last summer I was wanting to pull out some ugly bushes in the front of our house. They were right in front of the dining room window, and getting bigger and uglier every day. I don't know what kind of bushes they were, but they came with the house. We didn't pick them. They did have cute little yellow flowers, but they were getting out of control as far as how huge they were getting, and they attracted these gross beetles too. I told Ken so many times I hated them and wanted them gone. But for one reason or another we just put off getting rid of them.

I am proud to say that those hideous bushes are gone. And I am the one who dug them up and got them out of the ground. Me, all by myself! Ken didn't think I'd be able to do it (especially without cutting the sprinkler line with the shovel). I just dug all around the base of each of them and used the shovel to pry it up until I could get my hands around it and toss it away. It didn't even take very long.

Now we have a big open space to plant something cute.

The Superman shirt definitely helped me dig those suckers out.

Bright Sunshiny Day

This weekend was so nice. Sunshine and high temps both days. Saturday afternoon we spent a good amount of time just being outside not freezing.

The kids made mud pies from a hole in the yard Storm dug. We found out after it was all mixed that they had added some special "chocolate" in the form of dog poop. Nice.

I swept out the garage and then chilled in the sun with Storm.

Ken put together the last of Syd's Christmas presents.
Of course he had to test drive it too.
I feel very spoiled by this wonderful first week of March. Makes my heart very happy and hopeful that spring might actually come soon.
